Thank you to Westinghouse Electric Corporation and their summer interns!
Westinghouse is deeply committed to their partnership with the United Way of SWPA and saw the importance of still having a volunteer project component to their summer internship program, despite it being fully virtual this year. The Westinghouse Intern Project ran from July 15-31 and the group wanted to focus on the Senior and Children Impact Areas. The kick off to the project included a video call and presentation with UWSWPA Butler Region Staff on the mission of the United Way of SWPA, the current work in the community and with Covid-19 relief, as well as information on who their projects would be helping. At the completion, the 65 interns from 30 colleges and universities around the country completed their projects which included creating 75 cards for seniors and 6 STEM videos to be used at local partner elementary schools.
