Volunteer Coordinator

This part-time position provides support and coordination for volunteer activities within United Way of Butler County, its partners, and all other participating nonprofit organizations throughout Butler County.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist with United Way of Butler County Week of Caring.
2. Cultivate relationships with nonprofit organizations throughout Butler County to encourage participation.
3. Cultivate relationships with businesses, civic organizations, churches, and other sectors throughout Butler County to recruit volunteers.
4. Coordinates volunteer opportunities throughout Butler County, making appropriate matches and filling all opportunities.
5. Maintain all necessary volunteer documentation, including but not limited to tracking volunteer hours, maintaining clearances and background checks, etc. 
6. Grow the number of engaged (repeat) volunteers throughout Butler County. 
7. Meet with partner nonprofits on a regular basis to assess their specific needs that volunteers could potentially address.
8. Create and maintain a database of volunteer opportunities and community members interested in volunteering. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Outstanding organizational skills; must be detail-oriented with excellent planning, verbal, and written communication skills.
Demonstrates sound judgement and strong problem-solving skills and ability to achieve results-oriented solutions.
Adaptable to perform a variety of duties and meet multiple deadlines.
Strong computer skills and able to learn new computer programs quickly. 
Demonstrates a willingness to work both independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to be bonded.
 
EQUIPMENT: The following are representative but not all-inclusive of the items commonly associated with performing the Volunteer Coordinator job functions: automobile, computer, printer, copier, adding machine, typewriter, telephone, fax machine, audio-visual equipment, pens, pencils, etc.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS: The employee is required to work in the United Way of Butler County office and in varying off-site work environments as needed, including occasionally working outside.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
 
LICENSE: Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
 
VEHICLE: Access to reliable, insured automobile to be used for work-related travel.
