United Way of Butler County values the trust its donors place in the organization and adheres to the highest standards in gathering, using, and safeguarding donor information. This includes all of the donor’s personal and gift information. 
 
The Information We Collect
When you choose to give to United Way of Butler County, you complete a Pledge Form which requires you provide UWBC with your name, address, email address, and other relevant information.
 
United Way of Butler County will not sell, reveal, or share with unaffiliated third parties any of your personally identifiable information except in the following limited circumstances:
We have your permission to share the information;
We are authorized to do so under this privacy statement; or
We are required by law to disclose your information or to protect against fraud or illegal activity.
 
Access to the Information
United Way of Butler County employees and key volunteers who may access your information are prohibited from disclosing your information to third parties except as herein stated.
 
If a donor designates all or part of his/her contribution to a funded partner or another United Way, their name, contact information, and donation amount will be shared with that agency unless the Pledge Form has been marked “anonymous”. Vendors that provide operational or other support services to UWBC must also agree to safeguard donor information in strict compliance with privacy policies. 
 
Your Participation is Voluntary
Your relationship with United Way of Butler County is voluntary and confidential. UWBC uses your information to send you acknowledgement of your investment and information you may find of interest about UWBC. If you do not wish to receive such communications, you may opt out at any time by contacting UWBC. 
 
Our Commitment to Data Security
This website takes every precaution to protect users’ information. When online donors enter sensitive information, that information is encrypted and protected with the https security protocol, SSL, to communicate with your browser software. This method is the industry standard protocol.
 
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, United Way of Butler County has procedures in place to safeguard and secure all information collected. Firewalls prevent outside parties from accessing various databases and internal UWBC access to the database is restricted to authorized individuals.
