Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Returns $544,591 to Butler County Families

The United Way funded Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Service, provided by the Center for Community Resources (CCR), recruited and trained eighteen volunteers who provided free tax preparation for 365 individuals and families, collectively returning $544,591 in refunds and tax credits to the community, and saving nearly $42,000 in filing fees and refund anticipation loan fees and interest.  These volunteers spent 562 hours (worth over $12,000) in working toward a match for the $20,000 grant the United Way provided to CCR for the program.
