Making an IMPACT through INVESTMENTS in...
Early Care and Education: 2,137 children improved their social, cognitive, speech/language, motor and self-help skills; decreased challenging behaviors; received medical care and Christmas gifts. 1,515 parents and families have a better understanding of their children’s developmental needs, activities and resources; improved parenting, problem solving and communication skills, and reduced family conflict. As a result , families remain intact and working.
Elderly & Indigent: 451 elderly or indigent individuals maintained independence as long as possible through respite care, or recognized improved levels of dignity in long-term care through accountability programs and affordable, safe, personal care.
Youth Intervention: 3,044 young people live free of violence; are involved in safe, positive, recreational and physical activities; learned non-violent problem-solving skills; developed personal safety plans; had educational rights and accommodations preserved to meet their needs; and improved their self-help skills through mentoring.
Youth Prevention: 6,448 young people improved their self-esteem and recognized personal achievement; learned to be self-sufficient by overcoming physical, emotional, financial and situational obstacles; developed creative skills and improved reading skills; adopted healthier lifestyles through drug & alcohol and abstinence education; and improved their family relationships through after-school, summer camp, and mentoring programs.
Adult Mental Health & Counseling: 587 individuals reduced hospitalizations, suicidal, and negative thoughts; established goals and improved daily functional living skills; strengthened social skills and human contact; and improved self-esteem through mentorship, improved awareness, and access to counseling and support groups.
Self-Sufficiency: 300 individuals found or maintained employment; 8 families are in stable living environments; and 463 individuals received meals, food, medications, housing and utility assistance, and clothing through intensive case-managed housing programs, child care scholarships, workshop programs, and transportation provisions. | |
